‘From far off, through circuitous corridors, came the scent of citrus-blossom and jasmine, with sometimes a bird’s song before dawn, sometimes a flute’s wail at sunset, and always the call of the muezzin in the night …” – Edith Wharton, In Morocco
The Retreat
Immerse yourself in the wonders of Morocco and experience the blend of diverse cultures and stunning landscapes. A gateway to Africa from Europe, it is where ancient Berber, Roman, Arab, Spanish and French history meet and mix to create something uniquely alluring.
Our home for the weeklong retreat will be the luxurious Peacock Pavilions featured in numerous worldwide publications including National Geographic Traveler. Mornings will begin with a rejuvenating yoga practice followed by a nourishing breakfast. Throughout the week, we’ll be treated to a poolside brunch, outdoor cinema under the stars, a henna and cocktail party and a celebratory last evening with Moroccan entertainment!
Our excursions include a guided walking tour of the Medina and vibrant souks along with dinner in the city, an afternoon spent at the enchanting Majorelle Gardens and YSL and Berber museums, a visit to a rural organic farm for a cooking class and dinner, and a spa day at a luxurious hamman with massage.
A visit to Marrakech wouldn’t be complete without visits to the Agafay Desert where we’ll have lunch at a luxury day camp followed by camel rides and also to the awe-inspiring Atlas Mountains to visit a Berber village with lunch and scenic trek.
Prepare for a sensory-filled and amazing week!

Yoga
Yoga practice will be offered each morning before breakfast and a meditation practice on selected evenings. Appropriate for beginning and intermediate level students, classes emphasize the wisdom in honoring your strengths and limitations and to be grateful for all that your body can do. Classes are a combination of asana, breathing practices and deep relaxation.
Agafay Desert and Atlas Mountains
Between Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains lies the Agafay Stone Desert. The textures and views here are absolutely breathtaking – unbelievable sights of the Atlas Mountains in the distance are complemented by the vast amounts of beautiful desert before it. The Atlas Mountains, located south of Marrakech, are the highest mountain range in North Africa. Separating the Sahara desert from the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlas Mountains offer spectacular views and a chance to experience traditional Berber culture. The Allure of Morocco
